Just to clarify this. This hack is for Editing your proxy settings and getting your wap sites if you don't like vzw's. You can now change your username and password, your gw.vzwwap.com for your apps* or net so you won't be charged, I hope.
Have not tested this on the new plans to see if you are going to get charged. New plans charge 1.99 a MB so be careful with this. If you have had a plan for a while, Before 1.09.09 i think then you will only be charged minutes.
My phone actually worked. I'm waiting for my phone bill to arrive to see if it costs me money. But the problem is that youtube and other major sites does not work at all. Only sites that are related to google are working. ...
yeah never change username or password cause i changed it and it didn't work. so i reset everything. Only change the port setting and the homepage. That's enough.
I just tried it and it works. The only feedback that I'd like from this forum is if i am going to be charged 1.99/ mb or minutes used or maybe nothing. Please keep me updated with your billing. Thanks
No matter how you access the web, with the phones browser or through your PC via the phone's modem, you are using data. If you don't have some kind of data plan, you are going to be charged.
Back before I had unlimited, I used http://www.zaksenterprises.com and didn't get charged for internet, only airtime. But I had unlimited airtime so even better!
It wont work...ive registered my phone and made an account, tried adding the OProxy addresses and ports (correctly), changed it to my homepage, but on the browser i get this error saying "401 Unauthorized"
So can u give me a tutorial on how you did it? thanks
these are the originals..they have worked fine for me..i changed them a few times and couldnt do a thing..also, i havent paid an extra dime with these either. so good luck
On the phone, type ##PROGRAM11000 and press SEND. The service code is 000000. Select option WAP Setting. Go to Proxy Address Setting and change Primary Address to 208.38.181.29 and Secondary Address to 67.182.7.246 Go to Proxy Port Setting and set the Primary and Secondary Proxy ports to 9201. Set the User Name to your 10-digit mobile number. Set your Homepage to http://wap.zaksenterprises.com/index2.php?username=(Your Number) But replace (Your Number) with your actual 10 digit cell number Reboot the phone and it should work!
It's possible for them not to charge you since data can be interpreted different ways. While we still lack feedback from multiple people on this, I've used Nav a lot now and no data has been charged to phone yet...Nav uses the internet or how else can it map out directions, find local movie times , etc? So yeah, there is a possibility. I'm sure there is a way as well.
